Looking for Pong, or kexploit? If the latter, then go here: http://filetrip.net/dl?OmwihGAuFr

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

He didn't say that, he said that even if Hykem obfuscated his exploit, people would pirate anyways eventually.
You are right. I interpreted wrong.
There will be a lib or api to anyone use the iosu system calls, and if someone develops a iso loader, loadliine port, etc, will be able to use the exploit.

more a pack with all 5.3.2 homebrews/exploints : plus that d/l has a password
The PW is "wiiu" without the quotes. Pretty sure it also has Cafiine and Loadiine in it. ;)

Of course.

It's just strange that people think obfuscation has anything to do with piracy in the first place. I know the poster in question isn't saying that, but quite a few people are.

It's to delay Nintendo from patching it for as long as possible. Nintendo will patch it and everybody knows that, the purpose is to get as many people on the correct firmware as possible. It's that simple.

You are right, but Hykem said that he doesn't want piracy to be present. So he will most likely make piracy as hard to access as possible.

That's not how exploits work though. These exploits grant both kernel and IOSU level access, so you can do everything that such access levels grant.

Yeah, if we have full access to IOSU there's no way Hykem can make "piracy not possible". It's like... Okay, let me give you guys an analogy. Your house has a door on it that has one of those built in, not replacable locks, right? And you give your new girlfriend a key. And then later on you catch her stealing your shit, so you don't want her in there anymore? Well, you're fucked. You gave her the keys.

There is absolutely no proof, btw, of Hykem ever actually saying he "didn't want piracy to be present". There's IRC logs. Does nobody remember the IRC logs earlier from the fake neimod saying that Hykem was going to keep the exploit private and give up? You know, the ones that Hykem himself proved were fake?

And after all, if Hykem was so against piracy, why did he code *this*:

https://github.com/Hykem/sign_np

Seriously people, stop having fucking apopleptic fits over this shit.

The IRC was published via screenshot, not a log.

And? I can make you a screenshot that shows George W Bush declaring me Emperor of Mars.

In fact, you know what? Let's prove a point here.

There. Bow before me, your martian Emperor

It's all slightly irrelevent anyway - the point is that kernel and IOSU levels of access allow you to do anything that such access levels grant, including potentially piracy. There's not much anybody can do about that, regardless of screenshots and IRC logs.

Look it up yourself. A lot of people were in the chat at that point. I find it hard to believe, too, but I'm giving in to the majority.

P.S.: I also don't like the idea of Parental Controls on our one-way ticket to the IOSU. It's really shitty, but understand it's in Hykem's hands.

I have looked it up myself. There are two people who *are actually the same person* who posted screenshots.

Believe me, I'm not talking out my ass, I've been watching this thread and the other one since day one. *Nobody* has any proof Hykem has said anything of the sort and frankly you shouldn't trust anything that didn't come out of Hykem's mouth.

That's the point we're trying to get at - it's not. It's IOSU level access thus piracy is potentially possible. It's not something you can magically restrict, because that's what IOSU access allows.

Exactly. It's 100%, unrestricted access to the underlying system. There's literally no way he could possibly "make piracy harder", which is one reason I have a very hard time believing (besides the two screenshots which, I'll say again, *were posted by the same person using a sock puppet account*) that Hykem would be dumb enough to say he would.

You guys bring up very valid points. And with the system calls public, anyone could put two and two together. Although, whatever happens, it's definitely in Hykem's hands. What if he understood this and hence didn't release it?

Well, then read his own words:
The answer is yes. We're debating ways to achieve some level of obfuscation regarding the kernel exploit, but that's mostly to delay piracy. Eventually, any obfuscation layer we may apply will be reverse engineered and other parties will be able to explore further this exploit until they reach the IOSU.
We obviously don't want to facilitate that, but there's no reason to prevent users to take advantage of the level of access the exploit gives.

That was regarding a Kernel exploit, which is entirely different from an IOSU exploit.

In fact, read his own words again, yourself.

"Eventually, any obfuscation layer we may apply will be reverse engineered and other parties will be able to explore further this exploit until they reach the IOSU."

ie, the implication being that an IOSU exploit is the point of no return wherein there's no way to prevent someone from developing whatever they want, including things to enable piracy.

He can't stop piracy, it should be an effort of the whole comunity though make it less accesible to pirates, I mean usbloader developers, it CAN be done, Devolution made an excelent job in hindering piracy.
