so you could make an elf loader using the html and payload, which can boot any .elf file on SD or USB?
That would be easier to compile just the elf once we have a working elf loader (with file browser that would be even better :P).

Yeah, that's the plan. We would need to get USB working first, though, or have it load over the network for now.

All the talk about the wait for the kernel exploit metaphorically killing people reminds me of this time of year back in 2003 right after StarCube released the ISO of Wind Waker and everyone lost their minds waiting for the softmod to come out :D The cycle never ends; does it? :)

Hykem 06/19/2015: The WebKit source code wasn't updated that much (536.28 to 536.30). Tons of vulnerabilities have been found since then.

On the beggining when 5.4.0 out Hykem said not to update because will take longer but now he found tons of vulnerabilities so preview 5.4.0 hacked is more optimistic.

It sounds like what Hykem means, and I could be mistaken, is that tons (multiple) vulnerabilities has been found in the WebKit open source project since the release of the code base that Nintendo is using in their console. It is possible that Nintendo patched several of those known WebKit bugs when merging code from that branch of WebKit to Nintendo's branch of WebKit. Time will tell. If anything the team working on this have more than proven they are capable of some truly awesome things. Thanks guys!

If there are potentially more vunerabilities in the Webkit, then there is even more reason to not release the kernel exploit yet. What would people actually do with it at this point in time?

The game cheats thing is fair enough - a lot of people do want that. Still, once the exploit is release, it's released and will be patched.

I believe piracy would require an IOSU exploit, though.

I got the shittiest luck possible on Earth.

I've tried Fix94's site, wj44's and Wii U android.nl...
I can't get any homebrew to load.

I already cleared the cookies, closed all tabs but just one with the Homebrew list...
Still nothing. D:

I assume that you mean this is only necessary for 5.3.2?
Have you tried my site (wiiulib.arndroid.nl) which is now also directly linking to the correct payload? (It creates the link for the WiiU FW version you're visiting the site with)

I think it should now just work fine on 5.3.2 via my site. :)
no still doesnt work maybe the bubbels are the problem on 5.3.2

Can you replace the "link" element in the payload532 from hello world with "area"? then I can test it!

Link element? You mean my Div elements (with onclick JS)?

And with area, you mean anchor element?

I'll try to do that in a few. :)

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
