Ok so, can the exploit release be delayed?
The reason is the release of the Mario Kart 8 DLC and other stuff.

Because if Nintendo releases a System Update that also patches the exploit(s) before DLC comes out, then it's all over unless we get a firmware spoofer or something...

If anything, It will take them some time to make a patch for the system. Depending how large the security crack is, It unless they know about the exploit now and are working on a fix. But that is doubt full.

I know a lot of threads have been created recently, but hopefully this one will help declutter this thread of repetitive questions and be more focused on the exploits themselves and game mods instead of url blocking and updates.

Also, just trying to understand, is the "race attack" using time of check vs. time of use? Not necessarily in the same way as fof.

Why don't you do some timing analysis on those function calls and write your own script to exploit that example?

I got that, I guess I just never thought that Nintendo would be so quick to patch it (usually there's a slightly lengthy period of time in which they develop the next FW version, from what I've seen). I've been hoping it would be released BEFORE the next FW version, just for that reason, actually

I don't believe so, but I'm sure that Hykem is doing everything he can to get it ready. Plus (This is just an assuption, NWPlayer123 could answer this better than me) I think that the recent direct may or may not effect the launch. I.E. Waiting to see if theres a new update and checking if said update patches the exploit or not.

Not unless we're incredibly successful tomorrow. It is almost certainly coming soon, though completion will not mean release immediately.

I'm not sure I see the point in releasing the webkit exploit before the kernel exploit is finished. Unless I'm misinterpreting things, surely they should be released together rather than giving Nintendo the heads-up?

Definitely. Not sure what Hykem's plan is after we're finished with this first Webkit exploit (not sure if we'll release right away but at least it means everyone on the team can test), but it's definitely a priority.

You need to be on the latest firmware to enter the eshop.
