A new update is released ? I've the dns on my wiiu and in the download manager,"download error system update" my wii u is 5.5.1

It does that normally if it's blocked.
The longer a kernel/IOSU exploit is withheld, the deader the potential Wii U modding scene becomes.


I mean, of the less than 20,000 people who own a hacked 5.3.2 Wii U, how many are actually going to develop anything? I mean, why would they, when only around 19,999 people might have any interest in what they make? Keeping Wii U Hax a members' club benefits absolutely nobody (except maybe Nintendo, but even then, they'd probably end up selling more Wii Us even after the NX drops).

And don't give me, "but da PIRATES!" So? Consider how many people would actually avail of the exploit. I know for a fact that I've bought every game worth my time for the system ('cept Zelda and SF0, obviously), there was definitely more quality than quantity. And anyway, with the NX coming along and rumours of ZeldaU and Sm4sh getting remasters for it, I honestly don't think Nintendo would be hugely affected. Most of these games will be out of print within 2-3 years anyway.
rolls eyes, do you really expect homebrew to magically happen the week after it's released? We're better off making a decent development environment instead of just saying "here ya go fuckers have fun". 3DS would probably have gone nowhere without libctru. About the only thing decently available is game mods and even then that's over the network and there's two separate payloads for files and code

BFRES probably since they upgraded from BDL, TexHaxU might work but it seems all newer games dislike it EG Splatoon and Mario Maker, and pack is just sarc with lots of files in a "package" just use the normal sarcextract/pack (which I need to update, working on rewriting)

I honestly don't see what would be the problem with this.

Why do you think that anyone outside your "circle of friends" is a pirate incapable of understanding how things work? It's better to have 200,000 on the job than just 20,000.

Cause I've seen how many people stepped forward to actually attempt something before now, maybe a dozen :rolleyes: It's not up to me to decide release plans but I'd probably keep it "private", giving it to whoever shows they're able to do this kinda stuff and wants to help setup that dev environment before making it fully public so we have at least some delay before inevitable patches. The difficult part is getting it to where it's able to be released in the first place. Was trying to redump boot0 because I was dumb and didn't back it up from the old vWii espresso "exploit", if anyone has a working copy of the dol lying around that'd be great

That's only for Smash is the problem :\ would have to make a separate version specially for IOSU when we're able to edit flags. All other games have to use network since their app doesn't have permission.

You know if Pokken supports SD Cards in any way?

Also have you been able to get SDCafiine to work on 5.5?

Well, right now it's mostly really big assumptions that at least Hykem has code execution at boot0 to be able to see what's in the boot1 OTP bank, as well as maybe others like smea, we're just playing a big game of replicating work while everyone learns about the system :\ if such a thing exists then obvs we wanna know what it is since boot0 can't be rewritten since it's on-dye and it's basically unpatchable, only boot1 and later can be updated via system updates. We haven't exactly had much contact with him for confirmation :\
