What do you mean? I am confused.
They aren't focusing in that.

Could there be game cheats down the road?

Well you can transfer any data, including save data, from the 8/32GB on the Wii U to an external hard drive, so once we're able to decrypt the drive to access the raw data, then it should be possible to transfer it to another hard drive and re-encrypt.

This thread is created for us Hackers/Developers to discuss possible hacking vectors and possibly in the future enable real homebrew. The exploit is currently almost completely useless if not fully useless for the normal consumer, however check back here often we will sooner or latter find a Kernel exploit and developer a Homebrew launcher(Probably Kernel Exploit before launcher, but I can be wrong). Under this block of text so will you find useful information, if you want something added please contact me either via this topic (if its relevant to the discussion) or via PM. Have a nice discussionIntroduction

Wouldn't That to stop homebrew?
I am on the latest firmware. I won't consider doing anything unless I could back up and recover. The wife would kill me if I bricked the Wii U. I think I am probably out for a lot of "stuff" given that I've updated. I have this stupid error.
When I turn on the Wii U with the gamepad it says "Device not connected to the Wii U." For a while I turned on the Wii U without the gamepad and then it worked. Meaning, the Wii U came on and then turned on the gamepad. Now it always gives that error. If I unplug the Wii U and plug it back in (power ) it works!!! I updated trying to see if it fixed this error.
My brother in law has the black version and it is doing the same thing!!! I have vWii modified so I have no warranty. I've Googled and found that turning it on at the Wii U fixed it. Yep, for about a week. At 5.3.2 I am probably out. Decrypt, common key, see external drive info, got it, lol. Maybe save mods could be cool if it does not crash games.
I did not break it. The error began with the update that added the standby function. I turned those off and turned off the background services. That helped a liytle. Then the next step was to go to turning the system on with the gamepad. I am going to try using the pro controller to turn to turn it on in a few minutes. Very odd error. So that is why I tried to update. What? That you said is strange... my parents would kill me if I broke my Wii U xD, in the past, I Bricked 2 Wiis, now I won't do the same to my third Wii, and my First (and hope last) Wii U won't pass the same, anyway, I'm still in 5.0.0 and never got any problem.

Super excited. Sounds like I can update to 5.2.0 and still be able to poke around with at least another user-land exploit. I envy and admire the team's RE skills.
I think everyones still spectulating abit too much. How does anyone know its a kernel exploit being released?? I am excited but by the hints in some comments im curiouse if this "achievement" is for homebrew or piracy?
