Another sample, this one is a lot cleaner and doesn't embed stolen/SDK-generated shaders. However it does require texture2D.gsh from Health and Safety. With IOSU it should be possible to access that directly with maximum FS permissions (I still need to check), avoiding the need for keeping copyrighted or SDK-generated content in applications. It works really well for basic 2D, which is always nice for hardware accelerated rendering on things.

Perhaps this has been answered or not even asked yet, but when IOSU is released does anyone know if we will be able to keep our vWii and WiiU games on the same HDD? Either via different folders or different partitions?

I don't need in depth answers from the devs, but it'd be nice to know if I should start moving my vWii stuff to a bigger HDD or not as it will take a few hours.

I'm only making assumptions, but I'm guessing we might be able to keep both Wii and Wii U games in the same HDD with the Wii games being inside the /wbfs/ folder and the Wii U games following the same path directory as the ones used for Loadiine (wiiu/games/), it's just a matter of making Loadiine mount the HDD and loading the games from USB instead of SD, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Actually, I already have everything on a 2tb usb drive. Partition 1: NTFS 750gb approx with 328 Wii games (crème de la crème) and on partition 2: fat32 1250gb approx. 214 Gamecube games (crème de la crème) plus all 220+ Wii U games and eshop games. I personally think that's how it will turn out in the end.

Warm regards

Hehehe,

Actually I filtered all of them. Out of the 1200+ Wii games... I narrowed them down to 328. No barbies and no shovelware, it was months of work, mainly reviewing, testing, reading, researching etc, actually I can say the Wii had quite a nice fun set of games. I also have 9tb of ps3 games so I do have something to compare with. :). Same for gamecube, one of my fav consoles.

I'm there with you. Thanks to WiiU games I'm looking at more storage (7tb full of games and personal crap currently). Thankfully I didn't catch my PS3 firmware when it was still hackable or I'm sure I'd have a lot of titles for it too.

Wow, nice. Yes, its interesting about Wii U games... I thought originally that you would need like minimun a 2tb drive to get all the collection etc, you can get all of it including eshop games, Skylanders, Disney Infinity etc. under 1tb, not much 3rd party support!!! it really tells you about the BIG difference between Wii and Wii U. Though, to be fair, I rather have 200 quality games than 2000 shovelware titles.

True that. I'm currently running a 500GB drive for my Wii/GC stuff, so I'm debating on moving it to another drive or not as it's sitting at about 300GB with Wii/GC/DLC/VC titles. I may leave it but we'll see what IOSU brings to the table and how many games I want to have access to.

If only we could eradicate that stupid HDD format nag on the Wii U, I'd be more than happy to use my 1 TB HDD with it.

I remember reading a while back that someone found the way to disable it. I forget if they said it was possible with the current ksploit or not, but they said it would definitley be doable with IOSU.

Right, the only way to do it now is using UStealth, which I'm not exactly 100% willing to trust to hide the partition, I'd best wait until someone can figure it out.

You actually can! Look for the Ustealth post somewhere in this forum. With this wonderful app you can hide your hard disk and Loaders such as Wiiflow or USB LoaderGX will read them. I hope Loadiine has the same ability later on.

I don't trust it 100%, esp, when I need to change files and update things on the HDD.

I have my 1TB HDD connected to my Wii U by default, it doesn't bother me that much to just press the CANCEL button and that's it. :P
I can understand why it's such a cumbersome problem though, more so for those that have a Wii U for multiple people, you have the risk of someone pressing Format by mistake.

Yes, the risk is very high! Better stay safe with Ustealth!

I don't even use my HDD for my Wii U anymore, my Wii however, yes, I still have a 500 GB HDD with all my backups on it :P

I still have the Wii, but my sister has it in another room, I switched to the Wii U completely once I hacked vWii. :D
I still have everything I had in my Wii and some more. :P

Same here.
I can at most have 30-40 games out.
Maybe I'm just picky, that might be it.
