Hardware Wii U gamepad will not charge- anyone know a fix?

Hey there,

Have not turned on my Wii U for about 6 months now and I just went to power it all back on. I tried turning on the controller and nothing.

I found its charger and plugged it into the controller directly, no charging light even after waiting an hour.

I then used the dock to try charge it and still no charging lights.

I heard you could test if its the battery by removing it and putting the controller on charge which would blink the orange light due to no battery, when I do this there is no flashing light.

Is my controller completely dead? is there a way to resurrect it?

It is very well could be the cord/connector or even the power supply. I bought a Y cable that plugs into the charger base and has a long line to plug directly into the Gamepad and it died after about a year. I actually just ordered another one the other day. That said, the fact that it did work and has been sitting for six months unused does not exactly lend itself to this theory.

I will try see if anyone I know has a Wii U charger I can borrow to test. Thanks for the input.
