Okay, so basically the gist of this is that I had two dead phat xbox 360's. I scavenged the hdd out of one of them (which is just an internal notebook hdd, under that funky looking shell) to use on my Wii U, unfortunately I don't own a USB enclosure (sad I know lol). What I did have was an old x360usbpro which is used to flashing 360 disc drives. Sadly, this device only has one SATA connection on it, which is strictly for data. So using this device, I could technically connect the hdd to my Wii U via usb, but there was no power going to the hdd. So I ended up taking an old usb cable and an old power sata cable and splicing and then soldering them together to make a usb to sata power cable for this project (I'm a college student, so I'm a very broke individual, didn't want to spend money on a USB enclosure lol). I was then able to get it up and running on both of my pc's and my Wii U. I originally started this mini project in hopes of using it with Trinux, but the current release of Trinux doesn't play well with my drive and I also managed to kill my 8gb sd card I was using for Trinux ><. I digress, so anyways, I continued with this project anyways. I ended up mounting the hdd inside of one of the 360 cases using electrical tape LIKE A BOSS. I then fed all the appropriate usb cables out through the front and back of the case.
So of course, only having the x360usbpro and the notebook hdd inside, it left this case looking pretty empty. So I ended up throwing my external hdd with all my Wii backups on it, inside the case as well XD. Again it was "securely mounted" using electrical tape XD. USB cables fed through the back.
I'm attaching a couple of photos of the hdd's "mounted" inside the case for the lolz
I've also included a youtube video of this thing in action:
