Hardware Wii system menu problem

A while back when i got my wii everything was working just fine, and after having the system a few months i noticed i couldn't access the wifi area on my menu anymore. Im not sure if this had something to do with a system update or now, but when i tired to access the area where you can change the settings it just went to a web page screen saying now found or something like that. I had another wii that i fixed and this had no problem like that even after i updated it, so i wonder if this problem is just the system or what as it happened on a friends also.

Hi Scorpin.

I asume your Wii is a NTSC version.
Is there a bootchip installed ?
If yes : What kind of chip and what versionnumber ?
Has your machine been softmodded ?
