Hacking Wii Softmod Error

Now, it says wii system files are corrupted. Please refer to the wii trouble shooting manual for more instructions.

Help me fast. My friend is getting really angry.

just change you're IOS in settings from preloader. try to use 60 or 36
If you did and it don't work you can try my way..

This way WILL DELETE PRE-LOADER WITCH MAKES THIS DANGORUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If there is problem after this there will be no way to fix that Wii..

If you do what I say to a T you should be ok.
Unfortunately I cant garatee anything.

Custom IOS Downgrader v1.2

Next extract it and put it in a folder and call it cIOS Downgrader..

Now rename the cIOS-Downgrader_v1.2 file to boot.dol..

Now place the cIOS Downgrader folder in the apps folder on the SD Card..

Next put the SD Card in the Wii and start up Pre-Loader..

In Pre-Loader select HomeBrew Channel and run cIOS Downgrader..

Find 4.0U "DONT INSTALL ANY OTHER SYSTEM MENU BUT 4.0U" select it to install it..
You did say the Wii was 4.0U right?? IF it was 4.0E than install 4.0E..

DO NOT TURN OF THE POWER DURNING A SYSTEM MENU INSTALL!!!!!!!

!!!!!WARNING!!!!!

This will delete Pre-Loader and can take 30 minutes+ so dont turn off the Wii or you'll have a full brick and NO WAY TO FIX IT!!!

After this is all done PRAY the Wii boots up...
If it dose install Pre-Laoder v29 and you might want to install BootMii and get a NAND back up to help in the next brick you make..

Dont turn it off it may take awhile..

If it dosen't work the Wii is gone..

Is it downloading or installing?

When its done dont reset it I think it dose that by its self.........

This is exactly why I don't get why ANYONE would install things without knowing what they do first.

Be smart next time, look into things more. find out what exactly everything you are installing is first...sheesh.

and yes, it should work, unless the problem is a bad wad file, cause lord knows what you've done at this point.

If it does work, I will help you hack it fully, but the only way I will is if you don't so much as click a button without me saying to first.

Omg, it finished but nothing changed. I think that the download didn't work . There were weird messages. How can I connect my friend's wii to my wireless connection? It is security enabled. So can I just download a custom cIOS downgrader 60 and use a system menu 4.0u wad and install it using wadinstaller?

man, he sure must have installed some bad files to make this happen that a reinstall of a firmware didn't help.


Also, what was the "weird" messages? kinda hard tio help you without ALL the info you know.

I'm going to fell responable if it deleted Pre-Loader tho...
I cant think of any other way to help him..
It is veary risky and I hope every thing is ok and Pre-Loader is working..

Have you ever heard of a safe way to install a system menu off line with out a game, Troy?

well, if he can't even get into preloader, he's kinda screwed.

From the sound of it, he's a kid. I'm guessing that is why he didn't research anything before hand.

Don't blame yourself, whatever he fucked up he did long before you came along.

Yeah, he freaked out and started scrambling for fixes I just feal bad for him and his frend..

I did the same thing with my XBOX 1 but I got it working thanks to help from people on hacked xbox forms..
It would make me fell like I payed something back if I could help him...Now I feal I might had made things worse, it sucks...

I'll be ok I just hope he will be alright too and Pre-Loader is still working of corse..

im having the same problem... everything started with the preloader thing.. after i installed it, it gave the sad message " corrupted flies..."

the thing is that after that happened, i rebooted my wii and it had the preloader again, and i changed one of its settings (stead of autoboot i selected the wii menu ) and after that everything was screwed up again..

i rebooted one more time and instead of having the preloader at the beginnnig , i have the wad manager 1.4 and i cant do anything after ...

any ideas ¡?!

please it will mean a lot

Lordpoketehpenguin,, im not JztheBomb but i post my problem here because as i read the topic i saw it was the same error i had.
If anyone can help me I will appreciate it.


I was installing the softmod 3 and was following the guide on softmod website.
Everything was going pretty well until i installed the preloader... as soon as i did that the preloader boot.. i selected the autoboot function and said there was an error becuase there was no hack.ini ( that i do have it )
after the the wii showed the message : THE files are corrupted...

so i rebooted my wii and the preloader was there again and i selected the settings option,, i changed the autoboot to system menu and the samw thing happened

i reebooted my wii again but now instead of having the preloader i got nothing...

and after that i reboot again and now i get the wad manager 1.4 instead and after that i get the wii message: the files are corrupted...

HELPP!!!

try taking out your sd card when booting and also try booting to homebrew channel and reinstall preloader
