Wii modded, apps how?

How do I add apps to my Wii humber menu? Does have it have to be with an sd card or not?

SD card is a best start.
Keep reading the guides. Yeah, it's a pain, but you will get smarter

I suggest a large SDXC, at least a 256gb, that will give plenty of room for GC (etc.) games.
You can go to 512gb, if you need more room.

I thought the wii can only handle 32Gb

Some of the stated standards are outdated. Pending on some certain Wiis, but it shouldn't really matter much. We don't live in a totally perfect world.
You can use a 32gb & live happily ever after. It will work fine/perfect.
256gb & 512gb, I tested with my Wii & they haven't missed a beat.

You can try a 64gb & work your way up. They're cheaper to purchase, these days.
I do use micro SDXC cards in a SD adapter. A discrete SD should work the same.

I only use my Wii for Wii & GC games (& Wii apps). Bliss
I try & keep things simple. More apps & emulators, to me are a worry.
