Homebrew Wii Mame emulator question

Hallo and happy new year,
I am using Wii Mame emulator with no problem at all but i am having problems with cheats.
I downloaded cheat.zip (which has .xml cheat files) and placed in the mame folder in sd card. Then i opened the mame.ini and i changed the value for cheats from 0 to 1. Although when i run a game and press the configuration menu the cheat option is not appeared.
Any help would be appreciated cause i am dying to play some bubble bobble with my childhood mate and use those nasty cheats :P

Happy new year. I dunno how cheats work in SDLMame Wii, but i believe you could try to adjust the DIP switches for the game (# of lives, difficulty, etc).

Btw, i highly suggest you give Retroarch Wii a shot. It is great for arcade (FBA, Neo Geo, cps1, cps2 and MAME2000) games.
