hi i used to make my wii korean install us system menu error 003after update firmware

today. my friend want to do homebrew and usb loader gx . the problem is
his wii is korean with firmware 3.2u
. does it has anyway to insta homwbrew on korean wii without error 003
kinda scare after my machine dead

But I don't think I have a working DVD drive anymore.

but i want to update his firmware to 4.3u .
does it possible? or should i factory reset his wii first
because i wantnt to install usbloadergx and everything.

Yeh that is indeed a problem.

Region changing isn't a good idea but perhaps ModMii can "update" the Wii in a way that the latest games will continue to run.

Region changing is risky, but as long as u don't lose power and u don't make a mistake it not a big deal.

ModMii has a region changing wizard. But if a wii has been region changed already, say a Korean wii region changed to US, then even Modmii's standard guide is safe to do. This is because ModMii uses a patched IOS60 in every system menu slot because it works best and won't brick Korean region changed wii's even if they upgrade to 4.3 (which under normal circumstances would cause you to brick)

That's interesting but not less risky than installing a patched ios60.

KoreanKii description even goes on to say that "Nothing, not even bootmii as boot2, will save your Wii if this corrupts your SEEPROM."
