Hacking WII DRIVEKEY

I know all about the soft mods and have a few softmodded Wii's. I have an extra Wii that I installed a DriveKey (new version). IT claims to play all region games. My PAL game backup disks will not play. I have tried various settings. I have tried several programs to patch the region. Nothing works.

Any suggestions???

I think modchip region free (which just automates "change region letter in game code at the very start of the iso") was broken in 4.2+ wii menu, you can use Priiloader patches but then you don't need a chip in the first place

So I guess another option would be to downgrade the system menu to 4.1 - if you want to use the modchip for some reason.

Assuming you are using an NTSC console, have you also tried programs that force the video mode (eg Neogamma)? Some PAL games only work in 50Hz (PAL576i) and the modchips do not usually patch the video mode (... Priiloader either).

Careful with that though. The 4.1 SM IOS is stubbed so simply downgrading SM would cause a brick, he'd have to reinstall the IOS for it first.
