Has anyone implemented a software solution for loading games and software without the need for the wii's disc drive motherboard being attached?

I'd like to forego purchasing a wasp fusion or leaving the plain disc drive attached.

Let me ask something. Why are you trying this...? The motherboard in all units is needed to run properly...

I have some hefty hard ware modifications that I'm going to be doing. However software is not my specialty. I need to save as much space as possible.

I had troubles getting sneek to compile. The automated installer crashed, and the official guide had a couple broken links.

Yes the drive needs to be present, that's what I'm trying to eliminate.

So far I've been reviewing cIOS stuff.

I've gone through the d2x source code quite a bit but I still need to figure out how the actual IOS is modified and packed into a WAD. If it's something like C or C++ then I can work with that.

Also, is there any type of live system log output on the Wii?
