what is wii connect 24, do i need it. if i have it off does this mean my friend cant send me mail on animal crossing wii???

wii connect 24 is just a program to let your wii always online its good for animalcrosing on the wii

Connects your Wii to the Internet. If you see the blue light from your Wi flashing when it is off, it just means WiiConnect24 is doing stuff. Mostly harmless, unless you have Homebrew Installed and Ninty tries to update your Wii.

there are no automatic updates so you don't have to worry about nintendo updating your wii. Some people turn it off because it runs without the fans on and can overheat your wii. For animal crossing i would turn it on so you can receive all the mail but im pretty sure when you connect to wfc it gets downloaded anyways (could be wrong don't play it often)
