I have an defective Nintendo wii motherboard which is missing the 1.8v (only 0.5v) when starting producing a black screen consuming 7.3W of power without DVD-drive. However when applying the 1.8v from an external source before pressing the power button the console boots just fine. Do you have any ideas which part could be defective or is responsible for the 1.8 volts?
Update: I found the right mosfet and capacitor and after trying to start the console again without external voltage it fixed itself somehow and work just fine.
Is it possible that I fried a shorted capacitor supplying external voltage (limited to 1000mA) or why did the problem just disappear?
I'm still worried about for how long it works now.
Thank You!
