Hello, first of all thanks to fig for this useful program.
Today I have made a little template for export the game list.
Export the game list as html page is more readable than a standard list, try it and make your comments.
Table HTML template
Example List

I have made another export template, that export the game list adapted for Download Cover:
Template for Download Cover

And I have made the italian translation.
Italian translation

For fig: If you want you can add all this in the future release of the program...
PS: Excuse me for my bad english, I'm Italian.

Hi I recently bought an 16G USB, so I run and transfer the Super Smash Bros to my USB but i get the wbfs panic: malloc fst error when launching, I do some research and I transfer the game with another manager with the option "keep game partition" and it works, (I also reformat the USB to WBFS with that manager) but I dont like the other manager, does any one one knows how to fix it on the Wii Backup Manager?

Thanks in advance

Hey fig, could you add an option to refresh the drive list? If I launch the program before turning on my hard drive it won't list it so I have to close and open it again. Unless the option is already there and I'm just blind.

Version 0.3.5 beta 1
ISO > CISO = Fail (Corrupted File)
ISO > Drive > CISO = Fail (CISO is deleted when finished converting)

Anyone else have this problem?

Smash bros results in the CISO / ISO or WBFS file being deleted immediately after creation in all versions for me - including the latest.
The file is only able to be created if I select game partition only.

Only seems to be this one game though (so far)

Possible Bug or working as intended ?

Step 1 : Take WiiPlay.ISO run it through WBM to create WiiPlay.wbfs file.

Step 2 : Take that WiiPlay.wbfs file and run it through WBM to a WiiPlayTest.wbfs file..

In theory shouldn't WiiPlay.wbfs = WiiPlayTest.wbfs ?

Comparing the md5 checksum results in a difference. Likewise, doing a hex editor compare shows differences.

WiiPlay.iso resided on NTFS drive.
WiiPlay.wbfs was created on a FAT32 Drive.
WiiPlayTest.wbfs was created on a NTFS Drive.

It looks like the Scrubing method for wbfs files is cleaning more of the data than the ISO files.

What do you think ? Too much time on my hands ?

make sure it isnt just the timestamps that are different in the files. dimok spent a whole day with wiixplorer trying to figure out why files were getting different hashes. turns out the timestamps were different and nothing else.

I agree with Giantpune.
you could try a hex compare of the two files to be sure
(if you don't already have a tool check for HXD, it is free and easy)

perhaps you try the following:
CODE# diff the ISOs on slot #0 -> silent == no differences
wit diff WiiPlay.wbfs/#0 WiiPlayTest.wbfs/#0

# build a structure dump of both and compare:
wwt dump -lll WiiPlay.wbfs >WiiPlay.dump
wwt dump -lll WiiPlayTest.wbfs >WiiPlayTest.dump
diff WiiPlay.dump WiiPlayTest.dump

Not the whole memory in a WBFS is used. Perhaps there is a memory allocation that only zeros the needed areas and leaves some random bytes.

Maybe it's related to:
0.3.3
Added: Full scrubbing (clean) mode. Full scrubbing will use only used Wii disc sectors, the rest will be filled with zeros. Without full scrubbing, some junk data will remain.

very nice

also if anyone wants to export the games list in a titles.txt/custom-titles format can use this template, handy if you want the titles the way they are named on you WBFS/FAT/NTFS drive and not Wiitdb naming conversions(user named)

Code:
[Export Config]
Author = pepxl
FileExtention=txt

[Export Page Header]
Wii Games List(titles.txt/custom-titles.txt)

Date Of Export:ÂÂÂÂÂÂ%Date%
Game count To Date:ÂÂ%GameCount%
Total size Of Games: %TotalSizeGB%

[Export Entry]
%ID% = %Title%
[Export Page Footer]

titles.txt/custom-titles.txt Export Template By Pep

Didn't want to make a new topic, but had an important question.

I've been using three different computers to transfer over the ISOs, I'm sure they all had different versions of the same backup manager. I was wondering if that could mess up the HDD and transferred games. Should I just use one computer and one backup manager or is it safe to use it on different computers?

I've been using a HDD and Wii backup manager for a while, have about 70 games on it with about 170GB out 250GB filled. Recently when transferring games over, it would stop 1/2 or 3/4 through the transfer and just freeze the computer until I CTL-ALT-DEL the program.

I was thinking it was because the HDD was getting pretty full. I tried another backup manager and was able to get a few more games on it before it did the same thing.

Thanks

I know earlier versions of wiibackup manager had problems where it would freeze during transfers ext..

I would recommended using the 0.3.4r4 version and make sure its the same version on all the computers your using.
I've never had a problem with this version doing transfers at all and I'm talking like 300-400+ games at a time transfer multiple times.
The latest 0.3.5Beta version does have a few bugs in it that's why I'm not using that version.

Timestamps in the contents of the wbfs files ? Im not sure how to look at them but Ill see what I can figure out. I know if i repeat the process the MD5 hashes match Ex.. wiiplay.wbfs -> wiiplaytest1.wbfs , wiiplay.wbfs -> wiiplaytest2.wbfs wiiplaytest1.wbfs = wiiplaytest2.wbfs

Yep did that.. the one file has Zeros where the other one has some data in the same places. May be related to Oggzee's comment below.
QUOTE(oggzee @ Mar 3 2010, 05:35 AM)
Maybe it's related to:
0.3.3
Added: Full scrubbing (clean) mode. Full scrubbing will use only used Wii disc sectors, the rest will be filled with zeros. Without full scrubbing, some junk data will remain.
Good Point Ill try switching that off and testing again. Maybe its working for ISO and not WBFS files.. or vice versa.

Switching the Full scrubbing on / off didnt change things

I did discover that transferring wiiplay.iso to "drive1" which is a FAT32 Drive opposed to wiiplay.iso to a specific File on the filesystem somewhere made a difference. I suspect this has something to do with the WBFS "Simulation" .

ISO to wbfs "file" then wbfs "file" to duplicate wbfs "file" = exact match.

ISO to driveX ( simulated WBFS drive which in my case is a FAT32 drive) the drivex (simulated WBFS drive ) to a wbfs "file" = the 2 wbfs files dont match.

I guess I "ass-u-me"d that the resulting wbfs file would be the same.

Excerpt from the 1st post...

CODE
Simulated WBFS drives
Mount any drive with a WBFS folder and use it just like the WBFS drives.
Use any Filesystem for backup of WBFS files. eg. Mount an NTFS drive with WBFS folder.
Use the old or new .wbfs storage conventions. ie.A single WBFS folder, or multiple sub-folders. Switch between them in the settings dialog, with the option to auto convert when a drive is mounted.
Multiple folder layouts. Title [GameID], Title_[GameID], GameID_Title
Use sparse ISO on NTFS drives, instead of WBFS files.
Select WBFS file split size. Auto, Unlimited, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB.
Mount custom folders on the drive pages.

All in all the files seem to work fine either way and I have converted my 43 .iso rips to wbfs files Full scrubbed and containing only the Game partitions. Crossing my fingers that I dont need to re-rip at some future date. Hooray for saving 100G

I'm having problems hiding drives now. I reformatted my boot drive (Damn thing corrupted) but instead of one partition I split it into three, one for storage, one for XP and the other for Windows 7 which I am using now. I removed the drive letter from the XP partition so it won't show up in My Computer but when I try to hide it in Wii Backup Manager it replaces the first hidden drive with it and wipes out all the other entries so all my drives are visible. I had to manually add the drives to the settings file to get it to work.

Also, I noticed sorting by region does not work, it does change the order but it appears to be completely random. I pressed it about five times and each time they were in a unique order. The first time it crashed at that point with I believe a Buffer Overflow error message. This time it hung but hasn't crashed yet.

Thanks, I'll try that version and just keep the games and program on one computer.

Got a question? Whenever I am using Wii Backup Manager to transfer games to my external drive, the drive will automatically reset itself. Any ideas?
