I wonder if local wifi can have some kind of tunnelling to get it global wifi? I know Stephen worked on something like a while ago http://www.akkit.org/dstunnel/index.html but that has never seen the light of day. That'd be cool.
Pity that stopped.
I want to be able to play lol over the internet!
Its an awesome idea though...

He stopped due to all the problems he faced and after realizing it wasn't feasible. He ended up taking what he learned and making the DS Homebrew WiFi libraries which are used with almost every homebrew now a days.

Unlike the PSP, DS games aren't ran on top of an operating system so you can't have a software tunneler as the PSP instead you require extra hardware and possibly modifying the Nintendo DS itself. In the end, it simply isn't feasible.

Well, my memory could be off. But as I remember it, the WiFi libraries came first, and were off of that bounty basically that was created. Then he started the tunneling on the side afterwards. I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it anyways.
