Hacking Wi-Fi?

Hi, I recently bought a R4i 3DS card, it works great on my DSi (as I don't own a 3DS yet).
I heard that there were problems when you connect the DS to internet with the card.
so can someone tell me if it is safe to play the games throug wi-fi or not?
sorry if it seems a stupid question but I don't want to brick my card or sth..

I havent had any problem with the r4i 3ds... (from r4i-sdhc.com)
the wifi function of the card itself (that would allow you to remote controll your pc to download roms to the pc) doesnt work.
but online play and local multiplayer works fine

All multiplayer features work with [most] flash cards
I only have an authentic R4 DS v2
And all multiplayer features (Nintendo WFC, multicard play, DS download play as a host) currently work and my R4 DS v2 is running the latest Wood R4 firmware
