Luckily shes not MY kid (none for me, thanks) she's my youngest sister. But an IQ test might be in order some time. It'd be interesting to know

My guess is that she is highly gifted (IQ 135-144). Lucky sis you've got

Yeah it's kinda sad really...I can have more interesting conversations with her than with my 11 year old sister who is *shudder* incredibly girly. Makeup and pink and bratz dolls....the 7 year old prefers bugs and video games
biggrin.gif
Just like me at her age XD I'm quite pleased to be able to give her games younger than I had access to them. As the oldest kid, my parents rather dictated what I was allowed to have and I mostly had books

Not that I don't love reading

Same goes for me bro, but I suggest you still limit the amount of time she can spend on gaming per day, otherwise you might risk she becomes an addict at such a young age, and that's never good. An hour a day should suffice, I think. At least I only started playing video games when I was 12, and then I was only allowed an hour a day. And I had to ask if I was allowed

"Girl"

I'm female too lol

And it's too late for that. I didn't start her on the gaming thing, my parents bought her an N64 at a garage sale and that was that...I just made sure the games she got were decent ones XD

She's an addict but we are working on that, but she learned to read because of pokemon gold
smile.gif
She wanted to play it by herself because she was bored of some of the non-reading kids games she had then so she started practicing reading on her own
biggrin.gif
it was really cool.

On the other hand, it makes it easy to get her to do chores or punish her for bad behavior. Threaten to withold her games or take them away.

But anyways at 6 years old, most are still dumber than a box of rocks. You can't exactly expect them playing Knights in the Nightmare or Dementium. They're very limited to what they can play. And Mario Kart, being one of the system's best is very user friendly. That dumbass 6 year old needs only to know Left, Right, A to play.

I resent that XD my just-turned-7 year old sister watches nature documentaries, wants to be a vet, and she's completed about half of Twilight Princess on her own, up to chapter 3 of Sly 2, she's further than I am in Dark Cloud, she's beaten Katamari Damacy and some of We Love Katamari, she plays Windwaker, Pokemon HG, Bleach:Dark Souls, Soma Bringer, Morrowind and others. Don't lump all 6 year olds together XD just because the 6 year olds you know have the intellectual capacity of a tree stump doesn't mean they all do. My sister also enjoys Mario Kart sometimes but she doesn't play it to death like some. She prefers Morrowind.
I don't deny your your box of rock's mental capacity for knowledge. I'm denying her capability. I was a hell of alot smarter as a 6 year old, than a 4 year hold, smarter as a 12 year old than a 6 year old, smarter now than I was at 12. And I've been told I've always been ahead of my group. But don't take my insult to your box personally, as I see anyone who is 21 and under to be dumb as a box of rocks.

Fair enough. I find myself feeling mostly the same way since I hit 21. I hold very little faith in the level of intelligence of my general age group and less hope for every year younger.

Lol. I've full on given up on the human race after seeing the shear amount of dumbass teenagers these days (I'm 18 myself).
It's pathetic that morals, self respect, and common sense are all basically dead. Of grade 10,11 and 12's at my school...i'd say 5% of them aren't idiots.
Scary.

People like it because they have known video game characters you can pick from and each character has loads of karts they can use also its bright and colourful and looks nice, its simple yet fun also Mario Kart allows you to play with up to 7 other friends that have the game or even don't have it. Also there aren't that many games. Theres a lot of different items to use and it takes some strategy.

Uh you do know your poll is a lie. Many people above 12 years old play Mario Kart >.>.
Anyways Mario Kart is one of the best racing games I found on the DS. The other ones are either shovel-ware or mediocre (and also a few good ones).

I tried writing something civil, but this basically sum'd up a wall of text while at the same time might make some people giggle. -_-
now THAT was loud
as loud as this pointless rant, and why the hell would you put up a survey, especially one as stupid as that. Obviously people like to play Mario Kart DS and that's not for you to question. Is there a game you do like, because all I see are these threads that you post flaming a game thats very well-rounded. For Example, Me and my gf play Mario Kart, I may always destroy her at it, but we still play it. You need to stop flaming, because you sound like a 10 year old and you have no actual argument to back up your flaming, its basically "meh meh meh, look at me, I hate Mario Kart cuz fat little kids eat it and then they eat doughnuts cuz theyre fat mehehmehmehmeh!" See? Completely obnoxious and pointless. Good day to you sir.

Agreed o_O I really dont get this thread...

If a game is decent it doesnt matter what age you are... it can be enjoyed by people of all ages I guess

And it looks kiddy and everything but its probably the best racing game on DS (That new Sega racing game is pretty good too though)

Mario Kart is awesome.

It's a fun way to race with friends and is really easy to play.

please note the 'for me's and keep your flames to yourself. thx you!.

Just to back the OP up a bit amid all the bashing, I also don't like Mario Kart too much. Played through it once, #1 in all races and never picked it up again.

Likes:

-Easy to pick up and get into
-Alot better if you have a few friends to multi play with.
-Lots of tracks

Putoffs:

-Nintendo characters racing...uhh...yeah...maybe too cutesy and property-branded 'for me'?
-Uber cheesy nigh-unavoidable special attacks that are annoying and just not *fun* 'for me'.
-The music....don't remember it being great (sorry, i need some techno, hard rock or electronic music to race to..F1 and Ridge Racer did this to me on the PSX.

I didn't *hate* it....it was just kinda bleh, 'for me' and I moved on...was near when I 1st got my DS so maybe I had my sites on other stuff to look forward to. Its a nice 'uncomplicated' racer, probably about as well as can be made on the DS. GRID is more my style, but its not too easy to get into...bummer.

Or who knows, maybe I'm just not into racing as much as I used to be. Played the heck outta Super Monaco GP in the day though.

To the OP: Guess its like Pokemon. Alot of people love it (not me) and you have to just take their word for it. Alot of people love shovelware too - and though its harder - you still have to believe they know what they like.

The short version:

'I' just didn't like it too much.
