Just going to post one thing here and then leave… I don't like arguing

Windows: Simple to navigate, simple to use, customizable, and compatible with a lot of software.

Mac OS: Simple to navigate, simple to use, compatible with far less software.

Windows is NOT simple to navigate or use, and crashes a lot and has lots of random problems that I never get on my Mac. Windows is frustrating to use; settings are put in places where, when I finally do find them, make me think "Why did they put that THERE?".

…anyway, that's all I have to say

My computer runs windows and doesn't crash. Therefore, using logic, the fault cannot lie in Windows because if it did, then every computer with Windows would have these crashing issues. The problem must lie elsewhere.

I mean christ, isn't that the sort of logic you're supposed to learn in 5th grade?

I'm not an expert in computers but that logic is such a failure.

Crashing problems are your own. If Windows had serious crashing problems we wouldn't e using the ruddy thing as standard on every computer in existance (bar Macs of course) You probably had a virus or something, a piece of hardware in your machine was overheating or something like that.
As for settings stuff, if you're looking for some of the more obscure settings and don't know where they are its a problem. But if you're smart enough to know what you're doing you'd probably have looked it up on the internet besides most standard users don't need to access things like the Partition Manager etc. so its not a problem really. Those savvy enough to use them can find them and they're not in the way of simple, home users.

If you find Windows hard to use, you shouldn't have graduated grade school.
This. Though school computers have seriously nerfed capabilities (everything's in a really obvious place for the kids). That said, a friend of mine once had so many pictures stored from a Paint program in her documents that EVERY time she tried to open a file the computer would freeze. Ahh, the wistful days of the Win98 standard and RM Primary School networks

I want to add that I don't have a problem with people who prefer Macs over PCs for one reason or another. Attacking Windows for crashing all the time is just stupid though... The main difference between Mac and Windows is the UI, some people prefer Apple's and I accept that. I just don't think its worth the extra £800 or whatever for a Macbook Pro over a nicely specced Windows lappy. Seriously, Macbook Pros are extortionate. I can get a slightly better specced laptop for half the price and I've been looking for a decent 15" laptop recently so I know they cost about £700-800. 15" Macbook Pro costs at least double that!

By "customizable" do you mean hardware wise?
Since you can always upgrade the RAM yourself on the desktop models.

But one thing people like about Macs are how sexy they are.
But on the other hand you can make a really sexy PC as well, haha.

I think a Mac is better for editing video to an extent.
And graphic design.

You can upgrade the RAM easily on the laptop models as well. My Macbook is running 4GB RAM.

Hard drives are more or less just as easy.

I only bought my Macbook becuase I had wanted one for ages, I had $3000 (I only spent $1100 on the Mac alone), and I needed a new computer anyway. Now that I look at it, I likely could have bought a much beefier PC, slapped Ubuntu and a OSX theme on it and called it good. However, I still wanted a Mac since the day I got my first craptacular Compaq laptop.
By the way you badmouth that Compaq laptop, sounds like you and me bought the same one...

It was a Compaq V2000 if thats any hint. Oddly enough, I eventually gave it to my brother 2 weeks after I got my Macbook. Threw Ubuntu Linux on it, and suddenly everything just worked, it gets a boot time of less than 10 seconds once you make it past GRUB2.

It still needs a bigger hard drive though, I might end up buying my brother one at some point. Uses IDE, which is silly because to my knowledge, a good proportion of laptops back in 2006 used SATA of some sort, I know the DVD Drive on that laptop does, so I fail to see why they decided to use IDE for the Hard Drive.

However, if I ever have to get a new laptop, most likely it will not be a Mac. Besides, by then all PC's will be using EFI boot, and I can always make a Hackintosh if need be.
