Hacking Why isn't there an English language option for the DSi?

Sucks for Japanese importers who want the menu to be English. Why did Nintendo not include it?

It also likely means that games which set their language based on the system menu, can only be played in Japanese.

I haven't seen confirmation however.

no, but probably, nintendo said so in a conference or something, but until we get some uk games and a jap dsi, we cant be absolutly sure. but if it gets cracked, there will be a flashme that will remove the region locks

It's very easy to test that.

Sonic Rush Adventure does not have a language menu of its own, none at all. The only way to change language is from the system menu.

As for as i know only DSi exclusive services are region locked.
Meaning you can play your English games.

Don't worry, european release will come soon... Or later. Anyway, not in long. It will have definetly five, if not six languages. I may be interested then, but not now.

Nintendo stated that the DSi is region locked, that prolly answers it.
maybe they look at it like this...

region lock for nihon-jins means:

1.)Japan
2.) rest of the world

To make sure curious importers aren't accessing all the good games that may be coming in the DSi store in which some of these games won't see a US DSi store release. I call BS on their region locking because it's due to parental controls. Come on now parental controls and Japan should never be on the same page not with all the obvious stuff circulating there.

Also, do not fear people, nintendo cannot change the way of REAL DS games, because if game would not be working on OLD DS systems, they would break - some rule by "Selling DS games, that infact are not for ALL DS systems..?" - so, region lock consists at moment only on language and DSi store...

am i not right..?
