thanks for all your feedback. I am just looking for a simple way to batch install all those (rocket league DLC e.g.) files to the switch via USB.
fast, easy and simple. NS-usbloader is the best tool for this. unfortunately the old tinfoil 0.2.1 is buggy and cannot do batch on the go. neither do the other tools which is a real hassle.

He is not doing anything wrong, it does not support batch installs.

Windows likes to identify most compiled python as malware, the source code is available if anyone wishes to run the raw scripts, its just compiled to exe for convenience.

He complained about drivers and how hard it is to setup as well

Its easy, set it and forget it

NSC builder to make one nsp - Install it as single file and done.

I did not mean to come off hasty, people report that to me often, and there is nothing I can do about it. Luckily the project is open source.
That’s ok as long as members realise that’s all it is, it’s always best to check with the dev in case he needs to act on it and doesn’t know. That’s what we are here for support!

no, it installs over USB not network.

The critique was never reliability, he wants easy batch installs which you cannot do.
So as i said then sx os allows this.

Just not plug a usb from pc to switch, didnt even think that was possible to have 2 female usb connections and it map to your drive with the games.

Simple solution.

Sx os, copy to usb, play off usb or even install and it supports mass installs.

Your PC does not emulate a mass storage device, this does not work. I am done here.

Exactly

So use sx os, grab a usb hdd, slap all your shit on it and you can mass install xci and nsp files.

Or you can simply use your usb hdd as an extended sd card and run all your roms off it, saving your sd card for shit you only need for when your out and about.

Why fuck about with a pc.

I seem to be the only one but I use Aluminum Foil and it works great for me. I've installed as many as 14 nsps at once and it worked fine. It doesn't even require python like some of the other installers.

Nobody use the original tinfoil with aluminiumfoil?

Isn't It can batch tons of NSP install just fine?

You beat me to it, that's exactly what I do.

Used AluminiumFoil before, just had to be aware of not selecting too much NSP and not having too long names on my NSPs
Switched to Goldleaf and while I really enjoy it, I miss the batch installation.
So yea, you could use AluminiumFoil, when I wanted to install some nsps I just select all those NSPs, press F2 and rename with a stupid short name quickly (Windows does automatically all the "(1), (2)... stuff). iirc it just had bugs when you select like more than 10 NSPs to install, doing like 5 by 5 is working good

unfortunately tinfoil does not find anything under "file browser" /USB or USBFS. when I use NS-USBLoader and the old tinfoil it works perfectly. how come?

Forgot fluffy yeah, I was actually using that right after AluminiumFoil (and before I use Goldleaf) and Fluffy is really good, maybe you will want to give it a shot

Yeah aluminumfoil is another good one that worked reliably for me, tho not as pretty as NS-USBloader. They're my two best options as they don't use python, and pyusb seems to cause issues on mac, at least for some people. I don't remember real tinfoil crashing since I switched to non-python options, and I'm sure NS-USBloader at least makes sure to trim really long names to a length tinfoil can handle before sending, so you don't need to worry about that.

are you running nut on your pc, with the usb cable connected?

yes, and NSusbloader works fine on the PC side. but there is no switch app that can batch install reliably. old tinfoil wants to have every NSP selected manually and crashes on some NSPs that install just fine using goldleaf.

do you have files in the folder specified in nut? and does it work via the web browser?

If it helps, as far as NS-USBloader goes for me it seems to get a little crashy about the 25-30gb install range. Try tinkering with like 4 games or so at a time.
