Homebrew why is freeshop so slow.

it always has annoyed me. the internet download speed on my 3ds. max download speed is 380KB/s
why is that i have a 40Mbps internet connection the download speed should be around 4MB/s
i have a class 10 sandisk sd card with an adapter connected. however i remember that before CFWing my 3ds eshop could download things faster. now both eshop ad freeshop are so slow
whats the max speed an o3ds can reach

Old 3ds 600kb/s but not stable. N3ds about 1200 kb/s

CFW has not effect on download speed.

I'll just fanboy and suggest Villain3DS, paired with IDM, I downloaded US/UM in 21 minutes overall (download speed is 5MBps).

It does have a QR code feature so you can install from that to console through FBI.

i have an old3ds, freeshop/remote install speeds are about 1000kb/s 1.1mb/s

i remember having to set my dns/ip settings to auto obtain because it would only download with 400kb/s. try that

Basically like everyone else said it has to do with the limitations of the 3ds hardware itself. Best thing to do is throw it on a charger before bed or to leave it charging and downloading and go do something else.

I tried your suggestion, ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS. 5 MINUTES IN AND IT'S 30% DONE. THANK YOU FOR THAT AMAZING SUGGESTION

Only reason I use Freeshop is b/c I'm running out of space on the SD card. Putting a CIA on the card would require additional space to install it.
Even so it still take awhile to install the CIA with FBI with an O3DS. N3DS is just faster no matter what you do on it
