Hi Guys!
Just some food for thought if you will please?
- What is the purpose of a backup loader for you?
- How often do you use a backup loader?
- Do you: play only backups?/legit games/ a mix of the two?

Your poll is missing at least a "other" option...
Just being able to buy physical games and play them without carrying around my collection/saving minutes of opening boxes, switching carts... is a huge benefit of backups, especially for a "portable" console !

1 - Not having to worry about inserting a different cartridge.
2 - I will not use a backup-loader until there is concensus about the side-effects.
3 - Only legit.

1- Playing games without having to pay them. Yes, and I'm not ashamed to say it.
2- Frequently, but not all the time, mainly on Wii and 3ds though.
3- I often play backups, but when I really like/want a game, I buy it. I actually love collecting legit games and I'd like to have a big collection in the future.
Hell, I happen to buy sequels to games I've pirated before lmao. I mean, played a backup of Splatoon, bought Splatoon 2, for example.

I totally get you there!
Imagine if you saw the unreleased copy of one your favorite games and it'll take months for you to get...what will you do then?

'cause I'm poor lol
like, seriously, I got the 3ds on a sale two years ago. And I only ever had that and a ds lite with a flashcard. No more* consoles/handhelds, no nothing. I can count the original cartridges I have with my fingers. This shit is expensive.

*sometimes random people give me broken ds lites, normally fixable, and not so long ago I got a n3dsXl lol. I'm freaking happy with it

How about Nintendo is a shitty company that has shitty policies and only panders to pedo-waifu-loving-weeaboos and I truly loathe them and refuse to buy games on their platform, yet no one has a better portable machine at the moment?

I do my legit purchases strictly on Microsoft (current gen) or Sony (previous gens).

My main purpose is to not have to carry a bunch of carts around, but while still being able to buy physical games and put on my shelf.

Sometimes I'll pirate to try a game. I buy a shitton of games, and I for one really believe the multiple studies that say piracy leads to more sales.

Which games do you tend to buy? Indie ones?

Leave my offline carts at home, and keep Splatoon 2 in the cart slot. I only play my own cart dumps in airplane mode for now, and my legit Splatoon 2 in vanilla Horizon OFW. (not risking a ban.)

Play games I would never normally buy.

Same here. I buy the games I would normally buy, but I like 'backup' loaders as I get to play games I would never pay for otherwise.

Every now and then I play a game that is actually really good and I end up buying it either for full online or just to have a physical copy for my collection, often this will lead me to buying sequels etc.

I have bought more games after pirating them first, than I have pirated games I would have bought, 100%.

Also I like backup loaders cos I have young kids and it's nice to let them play different games, as they will often play a game for 5miniutes and then not like it, I don't buy them games for this reason, total waste of money.
