I see... your selling copies as (near) perfect in looks and want to expand your market by duplicating the copy protection so you dont have to only target people with modchips or softmods

You not going to find that equipment for anything cheap and consumer based DVD burners are set to run within ISO standards for the most part so thinking any DVD burner with the right program "will do it" wont.

If your lucky you might want to search for DVD bios firmware mods and see if anyone has dont anything with some of the systems.
*Chances are you will find attempts but nothing but reports on what was noticed.

Good luck...BE VERY CAREFUL out there

if anyone could provide me with a website for info about the machines (about where to buy and everything) ill pay 10$ via paypal!

for the record here ...Lightscribe are not that great you need to use Lightscribe media for it to work!

printable disks are they way forward ... printers that can print direct onto the disk are pretty standard and pretty cheap now anyhow

well to explain, i have a indy business selling my music and homemade movies i make. so i just wanna be really professional as possible...it may not be necessary but its my decision

ALSO, which was the main purpose of this topic, and i just started thinking of my business, is that i spend LOADS of money on games every year, i just cant be bothered with softmods or modchips, im REALLY lazy, it would be worth it to me, if i could just burn or duplicate (like, i have a friend that buys loads of games, i borrow them, but i have to give them back before i finish, then i end up buying the game, with a duplication machine, i can just put it into the machine and give it back the next day) a CD and put it in my console, you know?

EDIT: oh, you were saying about "DVD bios firmware mods" wth is this? is there a link you can give me for more info?

EDIT2: You have a PM, koby

No
I dont have a link
but I remembered that there was a Dreamcast thread that was dealing with some YAMAHA bios mod for a CD player to READ the GD-rom (giga disk).
Basically from my take of it was that a giga disk was a normal CD but towards the outter edge of the disk, they basically made teh reader/writer head write at 2x speed whent he disk was spinning at 1x speed
*Thus the "double density"

I figure someone must be keeping this type of hobby going on... breaking cd/dvd standards for increased capacity

I dont know if it exists

ok, im going to get other people to replicate my CD image. now, how do i add copy protection to my DVD? anyone know?

you licence the protection method for major moolah.

I thought you of all people would realise that copy protection is useless

What aren't you understanding. You need to have proffessional equiptment to be able to press the disks and part of that pressing procedure adds the copy protection. It is not simply a case of just burning a certain file and it will instantly work. Alll the game have certain security features that are not really known to us. The console that didn't include security (dreamcast) failed horribly and no company is going to make that mistake again. Just pay someone to install a modchip and you wont have to worry about any issues about adding security.
If you are truly lazy, then getting a modchip will be the easiest and laziest way as you wouldn't have to mess around with a bunch of programs to burn it specially, if it was even possible.

i know all this, i understand, but even though YOU might not know, doesnt mean someone else doesnt...i need to know what security features needs to go on the DVD in the pressing procedure. surely someone who was/in the publishing business knows...
