The last Wii I soft modded was an LU57 Wii and I was able to use the bannerbomb HackMii installer. Followed by a bunch of WAD Manager installations.
I now have a New Super Mario Bros. Wii edition Wii. My question is does ModMii accomplish all of the same features that the old HackMii installer provided?

You still use the hackmii installer when you are using modmii.
Modmi is a tool to allocate all the nessisary files, and to take you "by the hand "when modding your wii.
The programm itself does'nt do anything to your Wii, as it is PC tool.
It's used to help you with modding as easy as possible. And to download all the needed tools for doing it.

The hacking changed due to Nintendo patching the Wii's system.
Bannerbomb is blocked by Nintendo. As of system menu 4.3. ( wich is on the RED Wii )

The only exploits available are Indiana Pawns( you'll need Lego indiana jones )
Yu-gi-owned ( need yu ig oh 5d wheelie breakers )
Smashstack ( you'll need Smash bros. )
Depending on your region.

After that hacking/installing the HBC, basics are the same for ANY Wii.
