Has anybody else decided to hold off on purchasing the SCL because of the colour? It definitely seems to be the best card available at the moment if you are a DS Lite owner (barring GBA compatibility), but I think the white would look pretty ugly in my navy unit.

I never expected Supercard to provide shells as it would've been difficult to make such a small cart with such an option, and besides I don't think it's realistic to expect them to provide extra cases for every single colour DS which is released as there's already 5, and many of the shells would be useless to most users.

What I was/am hopeful of, is that they will see sense and release some additional colours.. I'd say navy and black seem to be popular enough to warrant it. On the other hand - is anyone intending to paint their SCL to match their DS? If so I and probably others would be interested in how you get on.

In the meantime I think I can live with my Supercard SD, and I guess I can also wait and see what M3 can do next month.. unless temptation gets the better of me.

if its a problem buy it, take it apart, Spray pain. Add glossy finish. let it dry and put it back together.

Yes, but the SC Lite fits extremely tight in the DS Lite.

If you paint it and add glossy finish, wouldn't that add a few tenths of a milimeter more to the plastic?

The card would be even more difficult to pull out of the DS Lite.

Well why would you take it out after you put it in, in the first place? also you could sand it a little bit more then paint it and add glossy finish.

How about you just paint the part that shows when it's in the DSL, then it won't be any tighter...who cares what it looks like when it's not in the DSL?

And why didn't they make a DS Phat cart in too so we could use both? I mean all the other companies are doing that plus colors!

After reading that a guy on another forum broke the ribbon cable attaching the boards when he opened his SCL I can see quite clearly why they shouldn't provide extra shells for original DS or colour options (apart from the extra cost) for the average ham-fisted user, although another option to providing shells with the unit would be to sell them separately for those who are willing and able to change it themselves. Regarding the 'Phat' support, as is obvious to everybody and has been stated many times it is a 'Lite' card for the Lite console.

However I don't see why they shouldn't branch out the SCL into alternative colours.. it made sense to launch with the white as that is the most widespread DSL colour (only colour in the US?). I was checking out Supercard on Japanese sites the other day and found this picture of Jthe apanese model Supercard SD which was released in multiple colours for just that single market, so it is not impossible or without precedent for Supercard at all.

It would have been good if they found out a way to remove only the top of the SD lite that's visible and allow that to be changed.

So the people with the Phat "original" DS shouldn't be able to take advantage of the new SuperCard features! LOL, as if there were any new features!

No maybe it's because if you take apart the Supercard Micro SD most people will end up breaking the cable between the Card Slot and and PCB.
Why would supercard care if you bought the DS Lite or not.

I don't know what it is with you maybe your jealous because you have a phat DS or something but you've been on every forum I visit putting the Supercard down. At first before the patcher was released you were telling everyone they would need an 80x card and the lite was a waste of money. Then you complained about GBA compatibility which we all know about and then now you're complaining you can't use it in a phat DS. It's called the Supercard -----> LITE

Well all of the other Lite products haven't forgotten about the Phat. And check the other thread as I'm not a SC hater.

Right, so as you've decided that SCL doesn't fit your needs, buy one of them instead. That's not so hard to work out is it?
