I missed that part. All he should have to do is use AnyRegion Changer to switch the "Console Video Mode" value to NTSC, and nothing else. He'll probably get a warning about mismatched settings, but that's okay.

Yeah, I figured that changing Area settings should be sufficient, that's why I recommended he does it first - I just wasn't sure to what extent they can be changed so as to not cause a mismatch error. Thanks for clarifying!

Well guys thank you both. Looks like i wasnt too off after all.

Looks like the whole process of using dop mii and then ARC is like i used to do in the past, the part where i shitted it all was when i was touching ios36.

I DID NOT KNOW ios36 is protected now. And i confirmed this when i restored my nand and ONLY touched ios36.
Turns out, i read what Foxi4 was telling me about installing ios 236, and i went that way instead, opened up dopmii and installed 4.3(u), after that, restarted wii, and then went to ARC, and changed region from PAL to NTSC and now i got working color and video everywhere, this is exactly the same thing i used to do in the past.

In the end, i guess i learned a lesson, forget ios 36, love 236.

Thank you to both of you. i was really lost because of abscense from the wii scene. Thanks to both of u guys i was able to connect the dots, troubleshoot and get my issue resolved.

I cant stress enough how grateful i am. Thank u again.

Fantastic, I'm glad to hear that everything worked out. According to Joostin, you don't really have to change the System Menu anymore due to all the available Region Free patches so perhaps when you're doing a similar project in the future, it'd be a good idea to skip the whole System Menu reinstallation procedure and just switch the Video Mode - that does seem like a safer option. I'm not a huge fan of messing around with the System Menu myself unless it's an absolute necessity (seeing that screwing it up and not having recovery options equals flashing, and flashing is a pain in the butt).

In any case, well done!

thanks, the problem with only changing settings in ARC and not actually changing the system menu was that i got a banner brick after that, couldnt access wii settings.

Oh well, in the end this experience was educational. REALLY educational
