I am in need of a tri-wing screwdriver to open my Wii U Pro controller. I think I may have to replace the left analog stick because it has a hard time responding to motions in the down-left position (I've died plenty of times in MH3U due to it). Though I could get one online, I'd like to pick one up from a local retailer before the weekend so that if I need to order a replacement part, I can do it ASAP (which I know I must get online).

Having checked online for retailers, the only one that seemed to have them was Walmart, yet all of its listings are "sold & shipped by <third-party>". Nothing about themselves to indicate a local store could have it. Nevertheless, I checked my local store. They didn't have any individual ones, only as part of an expensive set that was marked with "now includes Y-type".

Anyone know of general brick-and-mortar retailers that would sell the kind I need? #0, I think? If I must get one online, where and what should I get?

These days it is a fairly standard security bit and will usually be sold in shops that handle such things. I remember making a thread years ago when I had seen on in Harbor Freight ( http://gbatemp.net/threads/tri-wing-in-real-world-shops.66825/ if you are very bored) and most places I have been in the world in the years since have them in various forms.

You might have trouble finding some of the crazy apple stuff that it cooks up but basic triwing is in loads of security bit sets and screwdrivers of similar nature. I quite often get them in mobile phone repair kits and depending upon what your local phone repair shop gets in for parts they may have some they otherwise throw away.

http://www.frys.com/ should have something and would appear to have an outlet in Sacramento. http://www.frys.com/search?search_type=regular&sqxts=1&cat=0&query_string=triwing has some, a search for security bit has more.
