I used to have an original springloaded R4, gave it to my bro when I got my CycloDS.
That same R4 is still being used, although it is slowly falling apart.

I don't currently own an R4, but I have an R4DS coming from Shoptemp.
Apparently they're built to the original spec that the original team used, so if they're clones, they are almost authentic, or possibly even are.

R4 original with spring loading (the spring is just fine, never had a problem)
R4 original bought just after they changed the case, without spring loading
R4 original clone

The first still runs 1.18, the second Wood R4 1.05 and the last one YSMenu.

The first and second came with the carton box, CD, storage box, USB micro SD reader and wirststrap.

The first came with a CD with kernel 1.10, the second came with a CD with kernel 1.11.

The last one is a curious one. It looks and works like the original, but did not come in the usual box and extras. It was bought much later than the other two so it has to be a clone since the original R4 team already left the scene. But I can's see a difference with the second one, except the way it was shipped. There was no software, it had to be downloaded from the shop's site (kernel 1.18).

The oldest is from summer 2007 and still in as-new condition.

I bought mine a year ago and it's one of the "new" genuine R4s made with the same spec as the original, same internals (PCB), etc

Just have one original R4 for testing. The main setup I use is the AK2i.
