Well, if you set up your SD appropriately it's not really "switching" - I can use both next to each other. Only a matter of folder structure, given that SX also.supports the same firmware as atmos does... I can boot both as I like

3DS files are cart dumps. CIA files are more akin to eshop packages, in laymen terms (although I'm not familiar with either format, so feel free to correct.)
XCI and NSP are literally the same format with different certificates; this is why you can "install" an XCI file; it just treats it as an NSP. Maybe you're new to the scene, fyi, but XCI predates TX by a long shot; they did the right thing and adopted the standard format already used by scene dumpers. And there are strengths to this, too, like being entirely safer than NSP installing. Also, for the heck of it...

btw the Switch eshop doesn't use NSPs
