They're still Final Fantasy games. Just not considered to be of the main series. They're spin-offs. So, technically they're not "real FF's".

with gameplay that is different from that of the main series
Different hmmm? A spin off FF not being a real FF because its different is something I don't want to hear.

The Spinoff games often use different Storylines while still keeping the same "Final Fantasy" themes (Just like the main games have been doing themselves for over 20 years).

Does the game have HP/MP? Check.
Does the game have Stats and Elemental properties? Check.
Does the game allow you to level up as you gain Exp? Check.
Does the game let you use Magic? Check.
Does the Magic have Tiers? Check.
Does the game have Buffs like Haste and Protect? Check.
Does it have DeBuffs like Poison and Blind. Check.
Does the game have familiar items? Check.
Does the game have references to other FF's? Check.
Does the game have familiar Mascots and names? Check.
Does the game have a Battle system thats different? Check.
Does the game have a different story? Check.
Does the game often preach about hope, love, or the awesome power of friendship? Check
Get the point yet? Because I can go on and on...

Final Fantasy spinoffs and the main Final Fantasy games abide by the same Final Fantasy themes while still being it's own game that sets itself apart from the rest. Final Fantasy is just a name of a franchise; and if you don't consider Echoes of Time or other spinoffs to be a real Final Fantasy because it's "different" then I don't consider Final Fantasy 7 a real FF because its different than 8, or FF13 a real FF because its different than 3. You can't just dismiss FF spinoffs as not real FF's just because it seems convenient to you. :\

If you had to stop reading then you wouldn't have but a few things to say...
I on the other hand, actually did stop reading and went straight into reply as soon as I read this.

Evasion and speed? I had to stop reading there because you stopped showing that you played the game.
FYI Evasion and Speed doesn't have to be a stat. Evansion and Speed can mean Evasion and Speed.

Selkie's Double Jump can jump over and away certain enemies and bosses attack range. Thats called Evasion.
Selkie's Double Jump can cover much more ground at a faster rate by hurdling over tall obstacles. Thats called Speed.

But like I said, there is no right and wrong answer as to which class is better in this argument. You still think Selkie and Lilty are crap, and I still think Clavats and Yukes are crap. And personally, I think you're lieing about some things as I see its impossible to competently use a Yuke in the laggiest wifi game to ever hit Nintendo DS as its a struggle to even cast cure right.

Well, I'd have to say Ring of Fates, because it takes place before the original Crystal Chronicles, and I think it tells the story of how the Miasma got into the world or something.... :\

But Echoes of Time is MILES better, because it has multiplayer that integrates your progress into your single-player game and can even multiplay with a Wii... But I don't know why anyone would play it on the Wii because the graphics are no different and such.
