Apparently, one of these revisions of the Vi does not work very well with the DSi XL (705) but I'm having a hard time telling which is newer/better.

    There's this sexy version

and then there's this equally-sexy-but-not-so-yellow version...

Can someone clarify which is the 705 and which is the 805 version?
Also, are there any differences besides the sticker? Which has better build quality?

The one with the yellow is the 805 revision

Yeah, black sticker with yellow V is the 805 version. It should come already with v15 firmware, DSi XL compliant.

I have one with the white sticker and it has the 805. The white sticker ones have several different batches. only way to tell is to run it through the updater.

Wish the firmware had an about window like the AK card that has the hardware id on it.

Try the config window (where you set language, rumble and skin) how_do_i_do_that.

Exact. You can read the hardware revision, the firmware and kernel version in system configuration window since RC8.

But the best way to buy a 805 is still to buy the black package which is for sure 805 hardware revision.
