I use R4 Unofficial kernal 1.21 with YSmenu+DSTT Firmware as an NDS used for the majority of my games. I can't vote.

Until the new unofficial R4 firmware gets all it's bugs and instabilities fixed I'll continue to use YSMenu.

What you think is better YSmenu or R4li v1.23? Oh yeh on the poll it says 1.21 but just think about it like 1.23. So if you have 1.23 than vote the R4li v1.21. I still don't know what is better I just switched from YSmenu to R4li v1.23 because it has Soft Reset.

1.22 is better than 1.23. And to answer your question, YSMenu with Unofficial DSTT Kernel V1.17a02 is better than 1.22.

I have a first run M3DSSimply which is the same hardware as the original R4. I use MoonShell 2.05 with the Yasu's Menu plugin. I run a decrypted R4il 1.23.dat as a *.nds file for the few things that run better (Clone Wars etc).

Runs almost everything my M3DSReal does, and MoonShell 2.05 is bit nicer than M3Sakura 1.40 (displaying mp3 album art is very cool to me).

just wonder
can we make our ysmenu based Unofficial Firmware r4 1.22 + Unofficial Firmware DSTT 1.17 v2
You could always have YSMenu act as a moonshell replacement and have it work with 1.22. However, I only see a practical use for 1.22 if you want to play Star Wars The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance.
QUOTE(jakob95 @ Aug 10 2009, 08:40 AM) How is 2.22 better than 2.23?

Does the menu go any faster>
No, the menu is not faster. 1.23 loses compatibility with eight games and most likely numerous other games that have not been tested. These eight games work with 1.22, and 1.23 does not add any new compatibility/functionality.

That's what I've been trying to say.

1.22 for Star Wars The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance.
YSMenu + Unofficial DSTT Kernel V1.17a02 for everything else.

Personally, I think the unofficial firmwares look and feel like knockoffs that would better be suited on fake carts. I use 1.18 and have never had problems with it. Anything that I do have a problem with can just be patched.

LOL
You're right, but obviously the R4i team probably doesn't consider them as "bugs".
It's unofficial firmware, so of course they managed to fuck it up abit. It's great that R4 is getting updates again, but i'd stick to YSMenu and 1.18, And then to the unofficial firmware if DSTT or YSmenu lost support.
