Hi guys,

sorry to be such a newb, but can someone tell me which cards work with the 3ds? Is it the R4 card? And do they enable you to download and play 3ds games or are they just able to play normal DS games?

thanks in advance.

the R4 used to be the best card but the team behind it is gone, and there are newer and superior cards available now.

Supercard DSTWO or Acekard 2i are two of the best. None of the cards available right now will play 3DS games, but they will play regular DS games on the 3DS.

In addition to Melter I am going to say exact the same but with some more detail.

The 'R4 Card' is dead the team who worked on it left. This was an opportunity for other makers to 'clone' this card and rename it to R4i Gold for example.

Now we have many newer flashcards which are for more different from the R4. The R4 does not play all games with success. Flashcards like Supercard DSTWO, Acekard 2i and Cyclo iEvolution.

Cyclo Ievo plays many games in DSi mode which means it can use DSi features like camera etc.
Supercard DSTWO is a different story, this card has a Gameboy Advance emulator and many more!
Acekard 2i is an all-round card which does not have DSi features or a GBA Emulator.

Thanks Melter,

Will the Supercard DSTWO or Acekard 2i eventually play 3ds games or will they bring out a new card?

Is it easy to download roms and put them onto these cards?

It's highly unlikely those cards will be able to run 3DS games, due to the different structure of the games themselves.

As for dowloading roms, Google is your friend. Asking for roms on this site is ... Well, I assume you read the rules.

Hmm its easy to download roms its like unpacking them with Winrar etc. then copy paste.

^^

So its pretty simple to do once the roms are downloadeD?

Which one do you recomend to be the best one then? I just want one that I can play my old DS games on.

Sounds like the Acekard 2i will serve you best. Cheap, reliable, plays all the NDS games without much fuss.

ACEKARD!!!1

lol R4's and all the clones NEVER really do updates (normally have to buy another card)

honestly if you had to choose between a good looking woman (the acekard) and a granny (the r4 and all its clones) what whould you choose?

or you can go for SMOKING hot women (Supercard DSTwo)

but the DSTwo and the Acekard can update when DSi/3DS updates are released

and they are the most likely able to load 3DS roms.

just so you know supercard DSTwo has 3! bootloaders,
one for DS & DSL
one for DSi
one for 3DS

the only other one that has this sort of bootloader is a Ievolution
and that can run DSi games

I think i'll go for the AceKard then guys thankyou!!

Now..anyone point me in the direction of how to get the games onto the bloody thing? lol

Hi guys,

at the risk of sounding like a complete idiot..how do i put the Acekard or the SD card into my laptop? The SD card is too small for the SD hole..and the Acekard is too big!! None of the tutorials cover this..please help?

Its not SD! Its microSD(transflash). You are given a microSD reader with the Acekard.
OR
The microSD usually comes with a microSD to SD adapter.

All i got was the Acekard (little square thing) and the micro sd card (tiny square thing)

None fits into the SD card reader :/? what do i do?
