Hacking Where to go from here

Hello all,

i currently have my wii with a modchip installed (openwii). Unfortunately it looks like that firmware is no longer being maintained and it is getting more and more common that games do not work on it. I am looking to do a softmod (while keeping my modchip) and using that going forward. I have read as much as i can but cannot seem to really understand most of the newer mods.

Where should i go from here? I have a wii with dashboard 3.3u installed, homebrew channel already installed (and updated recently) and the OpenWii modchip.

any suggestions?
