Not to try and revive an old post that's pretty much dead, but in the wake of the nearly released iOSu by hykem, where does that leave wiikey u? And what happened to y'all who prepaid for it? Did any of you get your money back or something equivalent?

Wiikey U was already dead months ago.
Now with the IOSU exploit coming which even works on the latest FW, I don't see any reason for an ODE to exists for next couple of months.
There will be enough exploitable Wii Us in circulation, be it used or even new from the shelf.
I'm sure we will see enough sub 5.5.0 consoles for good couple of months ... after that only god knows what happens.

As for the money from the pre-orders, every serious shop should have ALREADY given them their refunds

Well, it opens the option of replicating the entire process, either streaming it through the Wii U (since IOSU does raw access to the disc drive) to external media or if you can somehow manage to take it out and use the keys to do it that way.
