In order to do anything close to the hardware you need the Userland exploit + Kernel exploit + IOSU exploit, at which point you own the hardware anyway rendering the WiiKeyU useless. I can't confirm you need all 3 exploits to get the drive key (in software) but it seems logical since IOSU shields the hardware.

I heard its coming out in 2knever and will actually be developed by Nintendo, with hardware from Sony and Microsoft!

On another note, pigs can fly! :P
I'll get back to you real soon. Looking for that crow to serve you for dinner.

Nope, not really. Just need access at "IOS" and all is good. The first two you mention are in fact ways at IOS but not the only way at it.
The goal for any modchip is to be seamless to the end user. Push a product out that is so easy to use "even a caveman could do it".
I mean take MN1 and Co. websploit and kernel entry as clear as it has been made and as easy to use as they've made it there are still tons of the same questions being asked. I mean seriously I counted 3 times they have said if the k.sploit fails try again before the first question about how I can't get it to work was ever posed. Now if you have to repeat this type of process to use a modchip you pay for would you buy it? Probably not. And even if you personally would I highly doubt many end users would. These softmod methods of hacking a wii u to run a modchip would never pass the grade to sell a mod chip. And I know for a fact if nintendo loses this softmod war MN1 and Co. will have a much more seamless version of an end product. <-----this was put here because MN1 and Co. put much hard work and effort into their exploit. And it is actually quite beautiful. I put this in because my reply to you was in no way shape or form an attempt to cut down the work of them. I hope they understand that. Hell I am pretty sure they do. And as time goes by I am sure if nindendo can't stop them they will have a 100% functional softmod.

Some people don't like to have fun. :)
No, I guess he's waiting for Dolphin adaptation for Wii U.
HA! He will wait a lot of time, you know, when PCs will get those kind of specs :
HDD : 2PB (YES !!! PB!!!)
SSD : 320TB
Processor : 1,8THz
Number of cores : 48
RAM : 512GB
Graphics Card : GTXXL 2000X 64GB

Honestly, I think what happened, is originally Team Wiikey had every intention of releasing the Wiikey U, but the method for obtaining the Wii U's drive keys was likely patched long ago and they've yet to come up with another method that works. Looks like the projects been abandoned as a result. The sites been down for so long now, its not gonna happen. Honestly, I see a softmod solution (for backup loading) coming before and ODE ever sees the day of light...

I still find this Wii Key U a little fishy &/or shady.

It's totally not legit, in other words it's FAKE!

Why not be Patient & Let F0F handle all the Exploits & Dumping/Homebrew!
