The GBA was my first handheld system, got the clear purple one along with Rayman Advance. Actually got the game before buying the system, heh.

I never had a GBA until about 3 weeks ago when I grabbed one at a flea market. GBA came out when I was big into PC gaming so I never bothered to buy one.

I think I got the clear blue model with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and Mario Kart Advance. Nowadays, though, I only have the NES GBA SP and the Famicom GBA SP. The clear blue GBA broke due to my own clumsiness (it fell down some stairs).

Imported it so I had it in April ahead of time(took it to E3 w/me too!) I had that clear purple/blue unit and Super Mario Advance along with F-Zero and Chu Chu Rocket. People riding the train up there with me kept their eyes on it. On the way back, I wasn't the only one with one as Nintendo was giving 1 away every 5 minutes at the show that year with a game shoved into the slot which was insanely generous.

Had the thing paid off way before Launch. Picked up the solid purple GBA with about half a dozen launch titles... Mario Advance, Fire Pro Wrestling, Castlevania CotM, Advance Wars (I think that was a launch one) and couple of others. Playing CotM sucked so bad pre-SP. That screen with a poorly lit all black game was awful. I sat under a lamp, and squinted.

Mine was the original Purple one and I got Tony Hawk 2 & F-Zero Maxmimum Velocity.

when it first came out, my parents got me the game boy color the following christmas...

then a year and a half after that my brothers gf gave me her pink GBA and i was happy with it.

and then the first game i saved up money for was metroid fusion. I loved that game.
