Ugh, whenever I can actually afford it, which in current circumstances I absolutely cannot. I'd be getting my wife one before buying for myself anyway, so who knows. Maybe next Black Friday or something.

The moment a hack is announced, is the day I buy a Switch 2. Just like with the Switch one.

Video game prices and ports don't bother me, as I only pay for the console and an SD card.

Normally I would buy when a hack is announced. But I'm thinking about getting it day 1 for possible v1 hacks in the future and I really interested in that Donkey Kong game.

Probably on Christmas. $450 is so fucking steep and is 1/3 of an average monthly salary here, so I'll most likely have to sell my old Switch, get a birthday with next to no gifts to save money, and then get the console on Christmas.

I'm not hoping for any solderless homebrew, and the potential gain from trying to solder in a modchip is NOT worth the major risk of permanently destroying a $450 console.

I'm planning to preorder on Best Buy as first option and Nintendo as backup option.

Fortunately, I met all of Nintendo's 3 strict rules to preorder.
Same here, I qualify for the Nintendo store option, but best buy might be a better option with no interest for 6 months

I don't appreciate the way Nintendo acts as a company and how they treat their customers, soI don't plan on purchasing a Switch2 and I voted "Never".

Depending on how fast, easy and thoroughly the device might be hacked at some point, I might buy one, but only if it will be the only purchase I make from Nintendo.

Probably never. I bought the original Switch and it sat on my shelf for years. The few games that came out for Switch that I was interested in ran far better in an emulator. Something amazing would have to come out, only on Switch 2, and there was no emulator for me to have any interest. The only other thing that would interest me is if they released a home console version.

I bought PS4 5 years after release (slim)
I bought Switch 5 years after release (lite)

will probably do the same with Switch 2 Lite
It feels wrong buying a console when the library isn't big yet
If I ran out games to play, I'd probably end up buying an emulator handheld like Retroid Pocket or something instead lol

I expect there to be no such model if you are thinking something similar to Switch with fixed joy-con.
Cheap model with smaller screen also unlikely but has a slightly better chance.

The most likely follow up would be better screen and improved CPU with better energy efficiency. Switch 2 OLED.

Maybe a made in USA model which is cheaper for Americans but nobody else in the world would want to buy cause it is hell expensive to them.

well I don't care about the detached controller + docked gimmick since I like Switch purely for its portability (I mostly play Switch during bus commute). so I hope they eventually release Switch 2 Lite.
Battery life is the main concern of course that's why I didn't get the Steam Deck.
