We've had a lot of good mario kart tracks since the series started back on the snes, and a conversation I had with my friend got me thinking about my favourite tracks, so I thought I'd ask the community. I'll list mine below to start :)

Tick Tock Clock (DS)
Waluigi Pinball (DS)
Airship Fortress (DS)
Rainbow Road (MK8D ver 64)
Animal Crossing (MK8D)
Hyrule Castle (MK8D)
Electrodome (MK8D)
Luigi's Mansion (DS)
Rock Rock Mountain (3DS)
Wuhu Loop (3DS)

Can't remember any more but if I think of some I'll add them.

My top 10
Some of them are Retro tracks

10th. Wario's Gold Mine (Wii)
9th. SNES Bower Castle 3 (Wii)
8th. Airship Fortress (DS)
7th. Baby Park (GCN)
6th. GCN DK Mountain (Wii)
5th. Dry Dry Ruins (Wii)
4rth. Rainbow Road (DS)
3rd. Mushroom Gorge (Wii)
2nd. DK Summit (DK's Snowboard Cross) (Wii)
1st. Grumble Volacano (Wii)

IMO Mario kart 8 has the worst tracks ever, none of them have cool shortcuts (besides big blue) and all of them are too straightforward.

I know this is off topic but I probably rank the games like this:

(Best to Worst)
Wii
N64
DS
Mk7
GCN
SNES
GBA
WiiU (MK8)

Really hate mk8 lol
How do you have Wii AND N64 at top? They're so different!

For me it goes

N64
GC
MK8
MK7
GBA
Wii

Those are the only ones I've played, but what I hate about Wii is how restrictive it normally is. N64 lets you do whatever, it never locks you into something, with Wii you just grab Funky Kong and the Bowser Bike and go. MK8 brings a lot of freedom back and I appreciate that.

However, all games after Double Dash fuck up the drifting for me, I loved the manual skill based drifting where you had to snap your stick back and forth to drift. It felt so good.

For me it would be:

-Wii
-DS, Gamecube, 3DS
-MK8DX
-MK8
-N64
-GBA
-SNES

Gameplay -wise

Track -wise it would be

-GameCube, MK8 (Very good)
-Wii, 3DS, DS (Good)
-N64 (Good but not as good as Wii, etc)
-GBA (OK)
-SNES (Meh)

I can respect that. Wii doesn't have much selection in terms of characters (only Funky and Daisy). I just like it so much because of the shortcuts and the inside drifting, all the other games either have really crappy drifting or really lame shortcuts. MK8 had both IMO.

Also N64 is super high because I just have a ton of memories playing it as a kid, and airtime felt awesome!
