Okay, look, Mr. Guy......
You've smarted off to everyone in here who has tried to help you by saying "Obviously I've done that, I'm not stupid." Let me clue you in to something: when you are asking for someone's help because you have failed to accomplish some task, you are surrendering yourself to failure and should adopt at least a small measure of humility in response to that.
The error you're experiencing could be a result of any of the things these people have suggested. So far you haven't responded even once with "Okay, I just tried that again to be sure, and it still didn't work." or "When I tried that yesterday, here's exactly what happened." You've only responded with "I'm smarter than you, so don't suggest things that are so stupid."
Sounds like you just wanted to come here and have someone tell you that your R4 is broken, since that seems to be the only explanation you will accept. So, here goes.
Your R4 has obviously been rendered completely useless by a harmless software update that everyone calls a firmware update just because that's what people are used to calling it from when flashcards actually had an independent firmware. The term is an anachronism when talking about the R4, but I digress. It is clear that user error is not responsible for your cart's inability to function properly, even though it might seem that way considering that almost every other user has been able to use these functions without any difficulty whatsoever. You should use this as an excuse to rush out and buy a new flashcart, preferably the most popular one or the newest one.
P.S. The word you were looking for was "respective" not "respectable"
