So that file has been in my memory for a while and im wondering what it is for?

Is this file bound to the the PSP it originally came from or could I use vshorig.prx from a friend in case I lost mine?

I accidently activated the permanent patch twice now I am not sure if the vshorig.prx on my stick is really a backup of the menu file from my virgin PSP or if this vshorig.prx has been taken from the already patched firmware.

Well according to the file creation date I guess it has been created out of the patched firmware.

Will I need vshorig.prx when B9 comes out or how am I supposed to upgrade from 6.20 B8 to B9?

not sure if this works been told by someone that if you updates to 6.39 ofw you will lose your 6.20 prob b-8 and be on 6.29 ofw. then just re-hack. Don't quote me on this though.

scrap that idea,

Go here and dl the PSARDumper, and install it into your /PSP/GAME/ folder.

Go here if using a 1k/2k/3k or here if using a GO
DL the 6.20 OFW update.

copy the EBOOT.PBP of the 6.20 update to the root of your memory stick

Start PSARDumper, and press (Circle) button when it loads

when it finishes, there will be a new folder at the root of your memorystick called F0/
Navigate to F0/vsh/module/ and find the file vshmain.prx
rename this file to vshorig.prx and copy to the root of your memory stick.

This worked for Reaper when he lost his vshorig.prx, and he was able to sucessfully uninstall with it, you're milage may varry though
