I want to make a System Image so if I'd ever need to reinstall Windows 10 then I'd just use this rather than start from scratch but I can't seem to find an app like this.

What I want is to make a System Image that only makes backup of the OS, drivers and apps (programs not the Windows Store apps). Nothing else.

RecImg thingy doesn't seem like it does this, unfortunately.

you could backup the whole computer, using windows tools...so you just have to restore it (or format it, and put it how you'd like then create the backup)
the problem with windows backup thing it makes a whole system image, including files...

you can also use https://ninite.com/ to install all your programs at once and easily without prompts or bullshit like toolbars after you installed windows...

I did one using Windows and it ended up being 70GB large or something. Too damn big.

Windows' System image backup only backups whatever is on your C:\ drive, which includes exactly what you want it to backup (OS, drivers, and programs). So either you have ~40-50GB of programs installed to the C:\ Drive (since Windows installs can take 20-30GB of space, depending on how you upgrade and what version etc etc), or your user folder is filled with junk.

You can always mount the image it makes with Window's Disk Management, then delete anything you don't want it to backup.

That's an awesome idea!

Thanks a lot!

I'm using Acronis to create full C: partition backup, not only system files and drivers.
My OS is on a small partition, and the data on another one so it's doing ~10GB backup image. (it backups only the data on the partition, not including free space)

I'm currently installing my new computer, and already restored backups 5 times after trying and failing to setup correctly/corrupting/installing crap etc.
though, you need a second HDD to boot a second installed OS, as you can't backup/restore your partition while it's running.

Acronis is not free, but there are other free alternative software to do the same, like Easus.
Acronis works with Win10, I don't know about other software, but it should be easy to find software comparison on the net.
Look for imaging software or Ghost software comparison.

Some software are doing only full partition image, others are providing options to backup only specific files or systems files.

If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction

You either need to be intubated to bypass obstruction or create a stoma inferior to the the area of obstruction to survive
