I'm not so sure Waninkoko really deserves the backlash he got for his releases. I think bushing (and don't get me wrong, you HAVE to respect his work) is displaying some ego here.
His main offence was that it was "dangerous" , now any form of hacking a Wii is dangerous to a certain extent - as you take risks, be it soldering, running software, whatever. He also re-enforced this by saying Nintendo would patch it and a NAND writer / reader was not freely available.
Surely every hack that is ever released is going to be patched, or at least the vendor will make an attempt to (eg the 001 error) , but the fact is that the community is reactive as we cannot forsee what nintendo do. So whenever they released it they would have faced nintendo eventually patching it.
I think the problem may well be that bushing feels hes put too much into this and cannot easily find another loophole, so doesn't want to let it go in a protective kind of way.
The only part of his attack I support at the moment is the NAND reader / writer arguement, but there's one out now anyway (a writer).
Wanikoko should enjoy a break and kick back and relax until the next round.
