Hi everyone,

So i have just ordered the DSTWO Supercard with a 16GB SD Card. As you can probably tell, im new at this.
When the DSTWO arrives at my door (hopefully sometime this week) how can i get started, what do i need to do to set it up (if anything) <snip>
If im missing anything else, please inform me, because as i've said before im new at this.

Thank you!

If your 3DS is on a new firmware and it wasnt bought pre-updated, you will have to run the DSTwo update yourself.
It is highly recommended to do this on older DS because of a risk to damage the cart, but if that is unfeasible you can do it on your 3DS.

Im guessing it's on the newest update?

Could you explain how please?

You download the DSTwo software, the update file, and whatever games you want (it is against forum rules to share links to the games) and place them all on your SD card.
You then run the update file on an older DS or place "b" just before the .bin in the filename and leave it on the error screen for about 5 minutes after placing it in a 3DS. Only do the update if you cannot run it before updating.

Is there no way of doing this if i can't get hold of a DS, and if i do, will it damage the DS in any way, or is there any risk?

Like I said, you can do the 3DS method, but this runs a risk of damaging the DSTwo.
The DS method has minimal risk of damaging the DS. It is as likely to get broken by a DSTwo as it is by using a normal DS cart.

So if i get a DS, what will i have to do from there, what you wrote above? Also what do you mean when you say "place "b" just before the .bin in the filename and leave it on the error screen for about 5 minutes after placing it in a 3DS"? Thanks

I believe you would simply locate the file on the SD card and run it.

You would take the update file, insert "b" just before ".bin", place it on the SD card, and put the DSTwo in the 3DS. The 3DS would get stuck on an error screen, while in the background the DSTwo updates.

Is that if i want to do it on my 3DS, but if i do it on a DS i can just run the file? Also does it matter what DS it is? Is it ok if it is the 1st Gen DS?

The first line is on a DS, DS Lite, DSi with old enough firmware or 3DS with old enough firmware the second is on a new DSi or 3DS..

What do you mean first and second line?
