I used to have a DS-X then I moved on to R4 which I liked a lot better. I now want to get a new flashcart, because I like to be up to date, but mainly because I want more space. Know what I'm sayin' some SDHC. So I have been looking around for a few days and have found two cards of my liking. (it always seems to be two, why cant it just be one?!?) The Acekard RPG and the CylcoDS Evolution. Please inform me if these are bad choices or if there are any other cards that I might be interested in in terms of what I am looking for in a card. This is what I want...

I think one of my main priority is quick loading menus. I had the DS-X and when full, it took 10-15 seconds to load the apps page. I want to easily be able to click on the folder and for the most part be instantly in the folder (like the R4)

I also want to be able to make my own folders so I can keep things organzied instead of a big list of everything.

Soft-reset

AR Cheat Compatibility

Whoops, somehow forgot SDHC. That IS top priority but the cards I have selected are HC so thats not an issue unless anyone else suggests a card.

Nice-looking- easly skinable menus.

Ok, so I am pretty much looking for what my R4 had and not all of these have to be in the flashcart, because I understand that there is not one flashcard that is perfect for me. I also left out many of the minor details that I want simply because I cant think of them off the top of my head. Anyways I'm not really sure what too buy, I dont want to pay too much but if its for the quality of the cart, it may be a sacrifise I'll have to make.

Keep in mind I'll also have to buy an HCSD micro card so if anyone knows anywhere I can get a good deal I'd be happy to know.

An a side-note I just read about the New Acekard 2. I see it is the same thing as the RPG minus the Flash memory so in result the price would be cheeper. I dont know what the advantage of it might be but I'll also keep that one in mind.

If you can afford it, go with the cyclods. Question: Is the CycloDS worth the extra $10 from the M3 real?

I'm not sure. I didn't look too much into the M3 Real. If anyone else knows please tell.

Why should I go with Cyclo?

If anyone has had experience with either of these cards it would be nice to hear from you.

Never heard of the EDGE. Does it support HCSD?

BTW: I am going to be away for an hour or two but please keep sending replys regardless. Thanks

Man, idk, everyone is gunna have a different opinion. I just don't want make the wrong choice.
There is no "wrong" choice here. Some of the options are just slightly better than others.

Flashcarts are dirt cheap anyways.

The two I would recommend are:

CycloDS Evolution.
Supercard DS ONE.

I don't actually own a Supercard DS ONE, but after hearing about it so much, I decided to buy one as well.

I think I'll look up super card but I've been looking around some more and I think I'm gunna go with the CycloDS because it is a good price and seems to be what I want.

Actually One last thing, Does anyone know if there are any differnces in battery life between the differnt flashcarts?

Ahh, keep thinking of things. Does the Cyclo have a soft-reset function?

For official games, yes it does, as do most slot-1 devices nowadays.

The Supercard DS can patch homebrew to soft-reset as well, though I do not know how reliable this function is.

Hmmm. I'd have to say CycloDs.

Cyclo has alot of support. More than the R4.

oh, btw I want an HCSD card to go with this but didnt relize(or more like "didnt let") myself relize how expensive they are. I wasnt looking at spending more than 100 and the only way to do that is a 4 gig. Now thats a lot of space but if i was gunna get this thing, I wanted to go as big as i could. so idk. any good deals on 6-8GB? also wasnt there a non HC 4GB for the R4?

wo, thanks. exept there are much cheeper ones on amazon but dunno how reliable they are cuz they are sold through other people. Is Newegg reliable?

Yeah I ordered a PC through them, and it came half the 2nd day, and the rest on the third. And I only paid for the default 3-day shipping.
