Feedback Windows 11 LTSC... The Good Edition of 11?

So I tried 11 LTSC on a HP laptop with 120GB SSD and 8GB RAM, and surprisingly it runs very well whereas if it were the Home/Pro editions it'd struggle like hell.

I want to say I like it, it's very clean, you can customize it as you want, but the Android/iOS-liie Start Menu will take some getting used to. I'm guessing there are programs that replace it though if you want to stick with the default it'll be quite the change.

If you want to try 11 LTSC, it's available via the M$ website or massgrave.dev.

End of Life Support reportedly ends on October 10, 2034 so it will last quite a long while. For me, I'll keep using 10 LTSC until 2029 and then I may upgrade to 11 LTSC as it's actually pretty good overall, IMO.

Man... I never thought I'd say something positive about Windows 11 as I always had such a horrible experience with it.

It's been many years since I last used a custom edition, I think the last time was Tiny Vista or Tiny XP.

After being forced to update to the dreadful Windows 10 Home or Pro (it kept updating & restarting automatically), I then became aware of the LTSC edition which I switched and never went back to the commercial editions.

The LTSC editions are what the Home/Pro should be, but aren't. Sad.

Yeah, an official edition without the bloat. It's crazy that M$ keeps it hidden from home customers who it'd be so useful to!

I haven't done technical comparisons, but it feels and runs a lot lighter. For comparison, 10 Home really struggles on laptops I've installed, even just the Start Menu.

I know M$ is doing this so people will buy a new laptop despite that their current laptop is probably perfectly fine.

Been running 11 IoT LTSC on my laptop and it feels so much cleaner compared to my main desktop

Win11 dropped an update ~2 weeks ago that completely destroyed explorer.exe on my PC, had to rollback the update to fix it while my laptop hasn't suffered any update bugs. No junk from the microsoft store and I never have to worry about figuring out the latest method to disable copilot.

Would totally use it on my main PC if it didn't require a wipe of my windows install

Edge which is a good browser in itself, even that can be uninstalled so surprisingly you're not forced to keep it installed if you don't want to.

And the M$ Store? Nowhere to be found.

I never liked using it so even better it was left out.

I'm honestly shocked at how good 11 LTSC is considering M$ shitty attitude with Windows OS these days.

using 11 LTSC for quite some time now and never look back. It is the best Windows experience, you can get. Now, after month of heavy use and many installed programs, it still runs alright.

Windows 11 has the ability to be amazing, it's just not that way out of the box.

Start with an 11 LTSC installation ISO, and strip it down further with NT Lite. The free version is good enough to debloat the OS, but the single-seat license is amazing and worth paying for yearly. The dev is an ex-Microsoft employee who never sleeps, constantly pumping out new updates to support the latest preview builds and everything. He's the same guy from nLite back in the XP days, so you know you can trust his work.
